Susan Moerdyk, founded In Focus Marketing in 2009, after working in the field of Research and Insights for over 13, accumulating valuable experience from industry leaders.

Susan brings a diverse set of skills to the table and sets out to challenge current ways of thinking in light of truly understanding business and stakeholder needs, opinions and behaviour. As market intelligence is the cornerstone of maintaining and building a brand, Susan sets out to best understand the relevant audiences in order to ensure a brands’ success.

Her portfolio of clients include many of South Africa’s leading brands, as well as multi-nationals, across industries. Susan has extensive experience in understanding brand dynamics and the impact of brands on various stakeholder groups. She is also passionate about understanding consumer behaviour across industries and to develop business strategies based on key findings on the learning journey.

She has project managed several multi-country studies throughout Africa, and is extremely knowledgeable on the requirements and challenges of managing surveys of this nature from  South Africa. Some clients for Africa work include the BBC, MTN and Standard Bank.

Susan has had research papers and articles published in Marketing Mix, The Journal of Marketing and The Sunday Times, and has been many times a speaker at conferences and seminars.

Her passion for learning is evidenced by her academic background: She obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Pretoria and also completed a B Com, as well as  Honours degree from University of Johannesburg.
